Travel Highlights Japan

Until 1868, Tokyo was known as Edo. Today, Tokyo is just as bustling and busy as Edo was during those times. It is filled to the brim with fine museums, fantastic restaurants, historic temples and shrines and of course it has the stunning gardens.

Kyoto and Nara
Kyoto was Japan's capital for more than 1000 years. Both cities are full of oldie worldie charm. Historic temples, zen gardens, it is a spiritual experience to visit.

Located close to Tokyo, Hakone is known for its nature resort. Here there are plenty of exciting activities, like cruising on the lake or walking through the volcanic valley.

Many visit Osaka castle, but it is also known as the place where the tea ceremony was invented. Osaka was also the center of many of the Japanese arts.

Nikko is located right at the entrance of the Nikko National park, which houses the Toshogu shrine. This World Heritage was built in 1617 as the mausoleum of the Tokugawa Ieyasu, the Japanese warrior, statesman and founder of the Tokugawa dynasty of Shoguns.
